I am sick of everything being called the big game. It's the Super Bowl. It's OUR game. OUR event. The NFL can bite me.
Now that I have that off my chest, I am so very much looking forward to the day when my team, the Detroit Lions, are playing in this game.
The closest we have come in recent memory was 1991. We beat the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs. Went to RFK to play the Redskins in the NFC Championship, and were massacred 41-10.
Since then, we have been in the same division as Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. We've had a decade of Millen. We have not come close. With the new regime and coaches in place, I think it's only a matter of time before we get to play in the SUPER BOWL.

I hung out with a Lions fan yesterday and he was saying the same thing as you. I explained how I understood his pain... since it took years for the Seahawks to finally make it into the big game.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'll never be a Lions fan, since I'm a Packers fan... I will say this. The day they make it to the Super Bowl, I'll definitely be cheering them on (which says a lot, since I'd never root for the Bears or Vikings). Lions fans are loyal and totally deserve it.
