My next door neighbors have a 6th grader. He's your typical modern day kid. He likes video games, riding his bike, trampolining, and other kid stuff. Since his family moved in about a year ago, he now likes sports cards. A few times a year, usually around a holiday, I deliver a package of cards to him. Today, He got this. The basket was from the $1 bin at Target. The loose packs are from the smg card cave. There about a dozen singles in there too. Fielder, Mauer, Porcello, Ichiro, Pujols, Longoria, Halliday, Jeter, and a few other stars. Of course, no Easter basket would be complete without some sugary goodness. Blow-Pops, Cadbury Eggs, Jelly Belly Beans, and such. I like turning a kid into a collector. One little holiday at a time.
Happy Easter everyone.
All I got was a rock.
ReplyDeleteVery moving gesture!
That's awesome... very generous of you. I wish I was your next door neighbor... Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. If the card companies want to do everything they can to work kids out of the hobby, I guess its up to us and random-acts-of-kindness like this to get kids to become collectors. Good on you, sir!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! you're a good bean!
ReplyDeleteThat's the way to get kids interested in the hobby. Nice work.
