Traded with the Unpronounceable

If you're like me, you have found yourself trying to pronounce the word SYZYGY. Is it, Sigh-Ziggy? Is it Sig-Zig-ee? I have even said, Size-Gizey to myself. It's one of those things that bugs me from time to time.

I bring this word to you today, because I just got my half of a trade from Mike T. of the blog Sports Syzygy. Mike is an avid New England/Boston (pronounced Bah-stin) collector.

A little while back, Mike contacted me and said that he had a bunch of extra 2009 Topps Magic's to unload. "Give me your address and they're yours". That's it. No extra qualifications, just hit me with an addy. I am constantly amazed at the generosity of the card collecting community.

Mike sent me 18 regular sized cards, 6 mini's including one black border, and 8 inserts.

Mike, you're the man. Thanks sew much! Your loot is on the way.

  2. Yep, that's pretty much how you pronounce it. Syzygy used to be a huge buzz word in the business world. I used to be part of a community service organization called City Year and our annual conference was called CYzygy. It's when multiple things line up releasing a large amount of energy. Most often it is related to planets, but I'm relating it to my collection.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the package. It helps me clear a little more space out to bring in new stuff. I've got way too many odds and ends from various sets that I only busted a blaster or two of and then never looked at again. Good luck on completing the set.
