I Know They Stink

So the Giants and Eagles play tonight in prime time. It seems like these guys just played in prime time. It seems like the prime time games are always comprised of the usual suspects. My team, the Detroit Lions have one prime time game this season, the annual Thanksgiving day shellacking.
Lets take a closer look at the 2010 NFL schedule. Specifically the PRIME TIME Thursday night games, Sunday nighters, and Monday night football.
Colts, Steelers, Eagles, Patriots, Cowboys, Saints = 5 games
Vikings, Packers, Bears, Ravens, Jets, Chargers, Giants, 49ers = 4 games
Redskins, Texans, Dolphins = 3 games
Titans, Falcons = 2 games
Bengals, Chiefs, Broncos, Cardinals, Jaguars, Panthers, Lions = 1 game
Browns, Seahawks, Bills, Raiders, Buccaneers, Rams = ZERO

A few thoughts; I can't believe the Raiders are not playing a prime time game. It seems like they have been a fixture on Monday nights for decades. Big TV markets get preferential treatment. The NFL loves them some NFC East (14 prime time games)

Maybe some day, my Lions will get a real prime time game.

  1. It's unfortunate that some teams get 5 prime time games and others get zero. i understand that it's all about the money... but they should at least give every team one chance to share the spotlight... even if it's the cowboys vs. the rams

  2. Wah. If memory serves, they got those spots back when the had Barry. They've sucked since then. But they're on the right track...I do believe they'll be winners more often next year. In the meantime why not just enjoy the Bears?

  3. Maybe with flex scheduling the Raiders will got a primetime game, that is, if they keep up the W's. At least you guys get a Thanksgiving game... the Bills play every game this year at 1 o'clock. And of course, it's never on TV.
