Last night, the sewingmachinegal and I went to a baseball game. The Detroit Tigers Class A affiliate, West Michigan Whitecaps versus the Cleveland Indians affiliate, the Lake County Captains.
It was a beautiful evening for a game. We bought lawn tickets for $5 bucks. Spread out a blanket, and sat back to enjoy a game. The atmosphere was great. The Saturday night games feature post game fireworks.
The game was dominated by the Captains pitcher, Matt Packer. The lefty from UVA, was awesome! He went eight innings, struck out nine, and only gave up 5 hits (2 of which were infield hits). Amazingly, the outfield for the Captains recorded only one out all night.
If you're ever in West Michigan, stop by Fifth Third Park and take in a game. You won't bre disappointed. You can also try to down the world famous 5/3 burger. It's 5/3 lbs (1.66) of beef with lettuce, tomato, salsa, sour cream, chili and Fritos on an eight-inch sesame seed bun.
That burger looks delicious
ReplyDeleteI've never tried one but it certainly looks good!!.....took my 6th grade class earlier this year as a class trip to the WhiteCaps and saw Jacob Turner pitch ( the Tigers next stud pitcher)...looked very good till the 6th and got a tad wild....it's a great place to watch a ballgame!
ReplyDeleteThat burger is insane!
ReplyDeleteWasn't that the park Adam visited on an episode of "Man vs. Food?"
ReplyDeleteYes Thorzul, that is the one. A guy was trying to down one the night we were there. He looked miserable.
