Back in 2008, when I returned to the hobby, the Goudey set tickled my fancy. I had pie-in-the-sky aspirations. I said to myself, 'I am going to collect the whole thing'. I sent out e-mails, made comments on blogs, and message boards. I was going to trade and buy my way to a complete set. All the auto's, relics, short prints, serial numbered parallels, everything! Then, I was slapped with reality. Slapped like this... Amazingly, the Goudey Memorabilia set from 2008 has an incredible EIGHTY, yes 80, cards in it. You can check out the checklist over at baseballcardpedia. I bought tons of the stuff, blasters, hobby boxes, loose packs, lots ans lots of wax. I have 28 of the 80, 35% complete. I'm never going to complete it. I give up.
The 28 card lot is up on eBay right now.
Sorry to hear that you're not going to finish it... it's a nice set. If I remember, I'll bid on it. I can always use another project.
