Reserve Auctions are Stupid

I am working on the 2009 Topps 206 Framed Relic set. I found an auction for a Jackie Robinson card on eBay. Auction starting price, $1.99. Awesome right? Wrong. I enter my bid, and boom, sorry jack, RESERVE NOT MET. Try again. Damn it. I hate these reserve auctions. I send the seller a message asking, "what's the reserve?". He ignores me. I kind of get how a guy wants to know what his card might be 'worth'. Running a stupid reserve auction ain't the way to do it. A guy like me, a guy that wants the card, will not bid more on your damn auction in the hopes that your reserve is just slightly more than my original bid. Either set a BIN price, or start the auction at what you really want for the card, moron.

  1. The funny thing is that reserve auctions don't get the bid of free-for-alls. In fact, I usually don't bother because it usually means they want book or higher. Or they know what they sell for on ebay and are trying to get a higher price for some reason.
