His Name is Joe C.

I had been seeing group breaks here and there, and had even done one of Thorzuls mongo el cheapo breaks. But, I was wanting more. A chance to hit it big. Many of the guys writing the blogs I was reading over the last few years were appearing at I Am Joe Collector group breaks. I begged to get in on a baseball break. The Detroit Tigers were already spoken for...until Joe put up a second break. Joe recently covered for us the amount of work it takes to host one of these. Dude is dedicated. January featured T206 and Exquisite. It was a good month for a Tigers fan!

The results; A Ty Cobb relic card. It looks like a bat chip, but could be a sliver of boat oar, stadium seat, table leg, who knows. It's a solid addition to my collection. A 2007 UD Exquisite Andrew Miller Auto/Relic card. Whenever I see a Miller, I think of Mario (sniff). I miss that dude. A slew of base, mini's (one OLD MILL of Verlander), and a thick copper Singl-io Ordonez. Zumaya, what a clown, holding the ball in his left arm to show off a dumb tat. I have high hopes for Wilkin Ramirez.

  1. Congrats, man, that Cobb is awesome! (I take it back if it's a boat oar, though)

And I got the Bipping up. Ouch!

  2. Nice pulls. Too bad the wealth couldn't have been shared with the other Tiger guy in the other monthly breaks! At least I know that my Kaline manufactured patch card is manufactured and don't have to guess about it origins.

  3. I try my best to steal cards and rip off my group break participants.

  4. Boat oar or not, that Cobb is pretty and that's all that matters, in my opinion. :)
