This set design is outstanding. All of the cards feature an in-game action shot (except the rookies which use a head shot). It is made up of 3 boarder colors, Red, Green, and Blue. The card companies didn't use Teal or Fuchsia for a few more years. The player name is lower left in Yellow, which makes for very easy identification when sifting through the pile. Lower right is a
team helmet. The back of the cards have a close-up of the players head, some helmet on some off. Plus, 1988 stats and career totals. We then get a paragraph with interesting facts and stats. An overall simplistic design that I can not find a flaw in.
Tonight, I am smitten with this set. I have decided to build it. Obviously, I could go to the bay and scoop one up, but it will be more fun to trade for it. So, if anyone has doubles of this set, let me know. Maybe now, 20 years later, I can finish this set.
I am game....I know I have some doubles and I have a wantlist for this set as well, though I have only needed 1 card to finish this set for well 20 years now, some rookie running back from the Lions. I think Sanders is his name. I have a ton of the Pro Set rookie cards none of the Score, anyway I have doubles and would love to trade!

OK Duane. I would like to deal. I will check out the want lists at Dem Roadkill. Maybe it's too early, but I can't seem to find an e-mail address for you.
ReplyDeleteI left a comment on the post with the 08 goudey list.

I have a 95% of the way complete set of these that I would trade off for Red Sox. I'll even trade off the Sanders. Check out my want list on my sidebar at: http://thoughtsandsox.blogspot.com/
