I spotted a box of 2009 Tri-Star Obak on sale for $2.75 a pack. I've been toying with the idea of collecting an Obak set (kind of out of spite because of the Topps-opoly). I grabbed a pack to see if anything would click.
Here's what we got;
Dale Murphy cards are always nice to get. I harken back to the days of early cable TV and every Braves game was on. He and Horner were quite a duo.
A mini T-212 of Buster Posey.
An ump and a baseball maker.
And this! Howe, Sewing Machine! What in tarnation is this! A card featuring a sewingmachineguy! Yah!!!We all have heard of Isaac Singer, the man behind the legendary Singer sewing machine company, and inventor. Few have heard of Howe. Since this is a blog about cards, I won't bore you with a sewing machine history. There are lot's of good places to learn about it if you want.
Let's just add this final note about the sewing machine; without it, you would all dress like this.
I don't recall giving you permission to post my family photo....
ReplyDeleteThat is just perfect - an SMG! Made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI think you're going to have to redesign your banner to include this card
ReplyDeleteI continue to toy with the thought of working through Obak. That's an interesting card!
