A Beer Review

On my way home from work tonight, I stopped by Mel's party store, and grabbed a sixer of Bells Octoberfest. I like to buy beer from this place because the brews are always cold and fresh. This was my first Octoberfest this season not named Sam Adams. This Octoberfest is brought to us by the same brewery that supplies the delectable Oberon and Two Hearted Ale. Although the Octoberfest does not quite live up to the awesomeness of other Bells brews, it is worth a taste. I liked the ease in which this brew went down. No crazy aftertastes, just a bit of hoppy-ness at the finish. A light malty clove-ish aroma was not overwhelming at all.

Since this is a baseball card blog...
I grabbed a couple packs of 2010 Obak last weekend. At 5 bucks a crack, it is a bit higher in price than I usually like. BUT! I really like the look and feel of these cards. Out of 2 packs, I scored an auto of some Yankee farmhand, and a card of AL Rookie of the Year Austin Jackson.

  1. Otter Creek has a pretty good Octoberfest. I actually haven't had too many, since the Pumpkin Ales come out at about the same there's just too many beers and not enough time...

  2. Bell's Oberon is one of my favorite beers I have tried while traveling. That stuff is freaking delicious, and was pretty much all I drank when I was visiting Lake Michigan.

I'll trade you some cards for a sixer.
