It Exists!

BEHOLD!
Check it out! I am so freakin excited I can barely figure out how I am going to format this post! This is one of the most difficult to find cards I have ever chased. It popped up on eBay earlier this week. When I began collecting the 2008 Upper Deck Goudey Graphs set, I didn't think Fred Lynn would be one of the last two cards I would need to complete the set. Griffey, Schmidt, McCovey, Daisuke, maybe one of those guys, but Fred Lynn...nope. The complete set consists of 54 cards (although the Official UD website only lists 52). I now only need the Derek Jeter. If anyone has one, I will trade a bountiful lot of cards for it.

This Fred Lynn auto is the first one I have seen since I began building this set over a year ago. I would check eBay, CheckOutMyCards, Sportlots, do Google searches, check my local shops, no dice, never saw one. I have seen many of the regular short printed card, minis, serial numbered, but no auto. I reached out to Chris at Stale Gum to see if any of his contacts could even verify the existence of the autographed card. Nothing. I was beginning to think it didn't make it into the set, but was part of the checklist. Sounds reasonable I thought. I had kind of given up on the search. Glad I didn't.

Interestingly, this is what the common short printed card number 206 looks like. A different image of the 1975 A.L. MVP and Rookie of the Year. In my research of this set, this is the only alternate image card there is.I want to make a special mention of the eBayer I got this card from. mcalavita is the eBay name. You can check out his offerings here. The guy is professional, courteous, and worked with me to assure that this card made it to my collection. Marco had a Jeter a few weeks ago, and I missed out on it. He made sure I didn't miss out on this card. Thanks Marco. It would be nice if my readers would show him a bit of love and bid on his stuff.

I love the chase!

that is an amazing set...here i thought i had it tough finishing the whole set and that the 300's were hard to get....that is nothing compared to chasing an auto set.
    now get that dang Jeter!!!!
    good luck
