One of the things I really like about retro-themed sets is the inclusion of old timers. The Goudey sets are a prime example of this. Schmidt, Bench, etc.
Today, while at Meijer, I grabbed a blaster of 2009 Goudey. The checklist is great. The cardboard feel of the cards is a throwback to my early days of collecting. I have a base set, but Goudey sets have 7 BILLION short prints, and I need some.
How do I say this; this is the ugliest ass set ever made. There, I said it. Hands down, this set is the Susan Boyle of baseball cards. I flipped through the cards looking for a few to 'feature'. They are all ugly ass. I am a big fan of the 2008 Goudey set. This version was, and is still a huge debacle. A
GUMMIE should be awarded.

This was such a big fail for Upper Deck especially compared with Goodwin Champions, Just about my favorite set from 2009.
